NP UK – Review! Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps

Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps

Aloe Baby Mild Soap
Dr. Bronner’s soaps have been used by many devoted American’s since the 1950’s but are much lesser known here in the UK.

From the official Dr. Bronner website, “Dr. Bronner was one of the original environmentally conscious individuals of our century. The labels of his unsurpassed pure-castile soaps became the perfect medium for his vision of global unity and peace. He is the passionate soul speaking through the labels about respect, reverence, and love of our fellow beings, of the Earth and of God. Not only exhorting others to unify humanity and Spaceship Earth, he devoted his own time, money and energy to numerous worthy social & ecological projects. Dr. Bronner’s spirituality was grounded in a profound ecological and universal consciousness, and our soaps are an extension of his being: simple, natural, powerful and 100% environment-friendly.”

His instantly recognisable packaging is a staple in most healthy US homes and readily available in most supermarkets stateside. Thankfully they are available in the UK but are a bit of a well-kept secret.

Lavender Soap

This 100% natural castile soap is heralded for it’s mildness and versatility. “18 uses in 1” the label proclaims, from bathing, shaving, and massage to laundry, house cleaning and dishwashing.

Reviewed in all the right places including Parenting Magazines, The New York Times and Vogue, no one can dispute the popularity of this product. The soaps are available in liquid and bar forms and several different recipes; Aloe Baby Mild, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Tea Tee, Almond, Lemon and Rose.

Our Review – I love this stuff. We use it for bathing mainly but occasionally for dishwashing too. I am aware that I have only just scratched the surface of it’s cleaning potential (not quite brave enough to our brush teeth with it!). The labels have always been a big focus on these soaps, where Dr. Bronner proclaims his philosophy on life and the universe. Hey, it saves on purchasing bathroom reading material 😉 And although you may not agree with everything on it, most people find something of inspiration. The soaps work like a charm and are highly concentrated, so are great value for money too.

Cost – From £2.50 – £29.99 (various sizes) in the UK.

Where to Buy – Available online through 21st Century Health or possibly your local Health Food Shop.
